Install Apache, Mysql & PHP via the command line in Ubuntu

Run through this lot line by line and you should be good.

sudo apt-get install apache2
sudo apt-get install php5 libapache2-mod-php5
sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart
sudo apt-get install mysql-server
mysql -u root -p
sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-auth-mysql php5-mysql phpmyadmin
gksudo gedit /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini
extension=mysql.so
sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

Make sure you select Apache when you are installing PHPMyAdmin. If you mess up installing PHPMyAdmin, use the following command to re-configure:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure phpmyadmin

Testing:

#Test
sudo gedit /var/www/info.php

#Add
<?php phpinfo(); ?>

#Test

http://localhost/info.php
